Gangotri

In May of 2025, I joined an expedition to research the effects of climate change on the Gangotri glacier deep in Indian Himalayas. The glacier is an important pilgrimage site in Hinduism, and the eponymous village down-valley from the glacier serves as the terminus stop for all travel to the glacier. On this trip, my group trekked to Tapovan, the alpine meadow at the base of Shivling and Meru, and conducted research there.
